Security Annex

Any classified contract or contract with security clauses must, without exception, include a security annex. This security document must be specific to the contract to which it is appended.

The aim of the security annex appended to a contract is to:
-  define the protected information or material that will be used or created during execution of the contract and specify the level of classification for each piece of such protected information or material;
-  set out the specific security instructions applicable to the contract;
-  specify the participants and the sites concerned by execution of the contract (where is classified information and material kept?).

It must be approved by the contractor and the instructing organisation or company before placing the contract.

The security annex to a subcontractor’s contract must be drawn up in accordance with the security annex to the classified contract to which it is directly related, limiting it strictly to the specific needs of the subcontractor’s contract. It must be approved by the contracting authority (*) prior to placing the subcontracting contract.

(*) the department that placed the contract to which the subcontract under consideration is related.
