NH90-TTH

Overview  |  Description  |  Technical card  |  Industrial card  |  Equipment and ammunition  |  Countries equipped  |  Cooperation

The NH90 (NATO Helicopter) is a European twin-engined military transport helicopter in the 10-tonne class that was originally designed jointly by France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands (Portugal joined in June 2001). There are two versions of the NH90: the TTH (tactical transport) and the NFH (ASV and ASW naval version). A CSAR (Combat Search And Rescue) derivative may emerge to meet a specific German requirement, which could extend to Italy.

First deliveries are planned for 2005 for the TTH version (Germany and Italy) and for 2007 for the NFH version (Italy and France).

This quadripartite programme, which is contributing to the integration of European defence, is managed at national level by NAHEMA (the NATO Helicopter Management Agency) and at industrial level by NH-Industries. These two entities are both located in Aix-en-Provence (France).
