Overview

Symposia ("Forum") are opportunities for consultation and dialogue between the DGA and industry, lasting a day or half a day, where the DGA meets with a wide representation from industry. They enable better mutual understanding of the policies and concerns of both the DGA and industry, and they provide an opportunity for discussions over a broad range. They take two forms:

  General symposia covering subjects of general interest and aimed at the defence industry in general. They are co-chaired by the DGA and industry and are prepared jointly.

  Sector-specific symposia are organised by technical field or group of technical fields prepared by a programme department; they are aimed at companies that are active in the relevant field(s). They represent a unique opportunity to communicate technical and sector-based policy to these companies.
