FAQ

Who can become a partner?

Any French or European company within the defence community.

Any government establishment coming under the Ministry of Defence and the accounting office for the industrial armaments departments.

What must I do to become a partner ?

Be registered as a partner: read and sign the Collaborative Platform charter.

Possess a connection architecture that is compatible with the Collaborative Platform’s internal security policy.

Have a solution for the robust authentication of your players.

Have a connection into ENX. (The DGA is the ENX registration centre for the Collaborative Platform).

What changes does this involve for my internal information systems ?

Many possible situations may arise depending on what one wants to share and the methods used to do so. The internal security policy (ISP) of the Collaborative Platform contains recommendations to be followed in order to get connected. This policy was discussed and validated with our initial partners and may change under a security working group that will invite attendance from all partners. The DGA implements the ISP.

What will I be obliged to share with the other partners ?

On the Collaborative Platform, the management of resources put on line is fully delegated to each of the partners who accesses the Hub so that they can control access to their resources and the players or groups of players who use them. A partner may thus at any time disengage from a community, close access to an application or forbid access to a specific player, without compromising other exchanges under way within the Platform. At interconnect architecture level, the partner must offer sufficient transparency to maintain an adequate confidence level with respect to the Platform ISP.

Does the Collaborative Platform impose a specfic service provider for the certification of my users and servers?

No, the certification policy has been written to be compatible with each player’s policy. This is achieved by adopting three specific policies (station-Hub, server-Hub, electronic signature) centred on the Platform Hub which provides third party assurance. This solution enables a partner to: get his own key control infrastructure (“IGC”) certified, get his externalised IGC certificates authenticated or obtain certificates from an IGC listed by the Platform. Regardless of the origin of the IGC, it can be subject to recognition by the Collaborative Platform on the basis of a mutual recognition agreement: CP/IGC.
