DUK-DUR 440 radiometer and dosimeter

Manufactured by MGP Instruments, this system enables the gamma contamination of the soil to be determined by measuring the dose rate absorbed using a detection system fitted to the vehicle.

TL 20 single-seat turret

_TL 20 single-seat turret developed by GIAT Industries for the VCI version. Armament: 20 mm canon, 7.5 or 7.62 machine gun. Can be fired in an N.B.C. environment. Electrical power via rotary joint. Manual aiming. Elevation: -13° to +50° - Maximum rate: 16°/s. in azimuth 360o - maximum rate: 120/s. Automatic system to prevent firing over certain arcs. Optics: day sight (magnification 6x) with forward episcope fitted for firing from dug-in positions. Clear sight for anti-air engagements. External reticule for visual engagement or acquisition of aerial targets. Lateral vision provided by 6 episcopes arranged in a circle. Options: night firing sight - 4 smoke grenade launchers mounted on either side of the turret.

Manufactured by GIAT Industries for the VCI version.Fire modes: single shot - restricted or unlimited bursts. Fire rate 700 to 750 rounds/minute. Re-loading: manual or electrical. Firing: electrical. CB 52 scarf ring shield

Manufactured by CREUSOT-LOIRE. Requires exposure of the torso of the gunner. Weapon alignment achieved by pressure from the gunner’s body against the shield -15° to +45° in elevation, 360° in azimuth. Aiming using the machine gun’s own sighting system. Standard 200-round ammunition box attached to the ring.

HOT anti-tank missile

Manufactured by MBDA (ex EADS/Euromissile). Wire-guided missile using IR sight. Cruise speed about 250 m/s. maximum range 4000 m. Dimensions: length 1.30 m - diameter: 90 mm. Missile weight: 23 kg _

MEPHISTO turret

The MEPHISTO turret was specially designed by MBDA (ex EADS/Euromissile) for the installation of the HOT system on the VCAC HOT version of the VAB. It can however be adapted to any other equivalent vehicle in the 5-12 tonne class. This 2-tonne turret carries 4 HOT missiles and offers engagement through 360°. Missile reloading is carried out from within the vehicle offering complete protection.

TL i 52 A light turret

Manufactured by CREUSOT-LOIRE, for the VCI version, offering complete protection to the gunner. May be used in an NBC environment. Manual aiming through +45° to -12° (- 6° under some conditions) in elevation, 360° in azimuth. Sighting through an oscillating head prism episcope with a single magnification eyepiece. Six lateral episcopes. Standard 200-round ammunition box, mounted within the body of the turret. Extractor fan for evacuation of gas. Electrical supply to turret through rotary joint. Spotlight moving with the weapon mount.

MASCOT light turret

Light turret with top-mounted weapon produced by GIAT Industries for the VCI version. The gunner remains within the confines of the vehicle. May be used in NBC environment. Manual aiming through -13° to +50° in elevation, 360° in azimuth. Sighting through a 2-mirror (upper part movable, lower part fixed in front of the gunner, sight line engraved on the mirrors). Standard 200-round ammunition box, mounted within the vehicle. Electrical supply through rotary joint. Spotlight moving with the weapon mount. In the transit position, the lower part of the turret is swung to the left to give the gunner a forward view. 7.5 or 7.62 mm machine gun, rate of fire 250 to 900 rounds/min.

DRAGAR

Turret manufactured by GIAT Industries, for the VCI version. This is a one-man turret of modular concept incorporating a stabilised 25 mm turret enabling the gunner to maintain a sight line even over rough terrain. The fire control includes a laser rangefinder and an IR camera. Rate of fire up to 400 rounds/min. Enables autonomous air defence.

Manufactured by GIAT Industries, for the VCAC HOT version, is a two-man turret that weighs 1.8 tonnes and can be fitted to a range of wheeled or tracked chassis. It is equipped with 4 missile tubes and a 7.62 mm machine gun. The turret includes optical and IR sighting systems and a laser rangefinder.

ATM modular fire unit

Manufactured by MBDA (ex EADS/Euromissile), is a multi-role observation and reconnaissance system that also enables the operation of the HOT 2 or 3 weapon systems from a light cross-country vehicle or any other light armoured vehicle. UTM 800 one-man turret
