Exploratory research and Innovation (ex "UP")

The industrial fabric generates numerous innovative ideas which may make a significant contribution to satisfying defence needs and reducing the cost of armaments programmes

In order to fully benefit from the potential of innovation existing in our industry field, and to analyse with reactivity of spontaneous proposals likely to contribute a significant share to the satisfaction of the needs for defence, a specific procedure is in progress under known by the name "REI" (for Exploratory research and Innovation). REI replace the old "Unsolicited propositions" (UP) procedure known as "PNS",

This procedure of "Exploratory Research and Innovation" known as REI aims at proposing with the innovating companies (SME in particular) and at the public organisations an access facilitated in the Defence research by a suitable step which rests on:

  A clearly identified DGA POC (point of contact): within the Service of Research and Technologies of defence and Safety (SRTS), the department Support for the Technological Innovation (SIT);

  Of the clear criteria of eligibility of the projects, detailed in the enclosure and being based on the Mission for the Research and the Scientific Innovation of the DGA, a commission of selection of the projects, chaired by the scientific adviser of the delegate, who meets every 2 months;

  A privileged mode of notification: the installation of "standard contracts" well informed directly by the submitter, associated a type of privileged notification make it possible to increase the reactivity with the treatment of these proposals (the had aim being a time of notification not exceeding 6 months). The contracts are proposed with the signature of the director of the SRTS as PRM (person responsible for the contract).
