Created in 1983, the “Science and Defence” award is attributed each year to those who have made a distinguished contribution through their research work to the advancement of scientific and technical activities that currently benefit or may be of benefit to defence.
The "Science and Defence" award is given by the Defence Minister on the proposal of a jury of scientific experts chaired in 2005 by Prof. Pierre-Louis LIONS.
The prize amount for the award is 22,000 Euros.
