Research into security

Security has recently come to the forefront of public concerns as a result of global events (increase of the terrorist threat) and changes within society (greater importance of protecting the environment, property and persons). Meeting multiple expectations in terms of security constitutes a challenge for the years ahead, and technology is to play a major role alongside the changes required in terms of organisation, legal framework, cooperation, etc.

When it comes to tackling global security, defence and internal or civil security missions are heavily intricated. The same can also be said for the relevant technologies: systems for intelligence, observation, surveillance, operation management, communication and command, protection, etc.

Through its experience in developing technologies and systems for the armed forces, the French armament procurement agency (DGA) is providing significant support for security R&T.
