RAPSODIE is an intelligence system dedicated to land surveillance and target acquisition. It combines the mobility and protection assured by an armoured vehicle with the range and accuracy of an all-weather radar.
A RAPSODIE station can detect, locate, classify and identify air/land targets (soldiers on foot, wheeled vehicles, tanks, UAVs, helicopters, boats) in all modern operational environments: the battlefield, protection, and amphibious operations.
The RAPSODIE radar accuracy enables target designation and artillery fire direction. Within a RAPSODIE module (2 to 6 networked stations) a tactical situation is developed and updated in real time and then distributed to all levels of command. This module can ensure permanent surveillance at Brigade level.
Entry into operational service is planned for 2008-2009.
