The CIDEF
The Defence Industries Council (CIDEF) has been formed in 1990 by the main trade-associations of the different french armament companies. Today, the CIDEF is built with GIFAS, GITEP, GICAT, GICAN and Richelieu Committee.
The aim of the CIDEF is to express the common feeling of trade-association members in defence activities. The CIDEF defines and drives common activities of all french defence industries in term of promotion or demonstration. It may also be representative of french armament industries in international comities.

The Richelieu Committee
is the French association of high technology SMEs. It was formed in 1989 and today has 210 SME members.
Within the framework of an agreement between the DGA and the Richelieu Committee, the latter has set up a dynamic request system for defence-sector companies.
This system (for which a fee of between 500 and 1000 Euros is charged depending on your requirements) enables you to identify a technical or commercial partner within Europe.
This request is processed by a team controlled by the Richelieu Committee, which exploits data from the European Federation of High Technology SMEs.

GICAN
The “Groupement Industriel des Constructions et Armements Navals” (GICAN - Association of Naval Construction and Weapons Industries)
was formed on 28 February 1992 by French naval defence companies with the support of the French Ministry of Defence. Its aims are:
To organise Euronaval, in liaison with the authorities and organisations of the French Ministry of Defence, primarily the French Armament Procurement Agency (DGA) and the Naval Staffs.
To support, by organising promotional events, the promotion of the maritime and naval air equipment and services offered by its members,
To ensure its members benefit from a sharing of information, exchanges of ideas and promotion.

GICAT
The “Groupement des Industries Concernées par les Matériels de Défense Terrestre” (Association of land defence equipment industries) links companies, organisations and individuals involved in:
the design,
development,
or manufacture.
of systems related to land defence and security, as well as miscellaneous supplies and services directly associated with their operation or logistical support: the promotion and sale of these same items of equipment manufactured in France.

GIFAS
The “Groupement des industries françaises aéronautiques et spatiales” (Association of French Aerospace companies) represents the entire French aerospace industry. GIFAS is active both within France and abroad in many fields, including:
Representation of the profession to national, European and international authorities, both public and private.
Coordination of industrial and commercial activities.
Harmonisation of technical, economic and commercial procedures.
GIFAS contributes to promoting the image of the professions through:
its participation in international events and exhibitions;
the organisation of exhibitions, market surveys and information campaigns;
an energetic publicity programme aimed at all media both in France and abroad, as well as public and private organisations;
the organisation, every two years, of the Le Bourget International Aerospace Exhibition.

GITEP.EDS
The "Groupement des Industries d’Electronique Professionnelle de Defense et Sécurité" (Association of defence & security professional electronics industries) is a professional organisation which links manufacturers that are active within France in the design or manufacture of defence and security professional electronics equipments or systems.
