Scientific Research and Innovation
As part of its responsibility for preparing for the world of tomorrow and developing future technologies and systems for the Armed Forces, the DGA changed its set-up in 2005 and created the MRIS (Mission for Scientific Research and Innovation), whose primary missions are the following:
strengthen defence research activities in science and basic technologies
put forth a science policy for defence
renew the synergies with the spheres of industrial and academic research
identify and mobilise the required resources
The end results of these missions are:
to keep abreast of new developments
to know and make known what the defence needs are
to direct policy and provide support for developments that benefit defence interests
