The target-detection anti-tank shell BONUS is a heavy artillery shell (155 mm) designed for top-attack and neutralisation of tanks, armoured vehicles and self-propelled artillery (whether stationary or in motion).
It can be fired from 155 m guns (39 and 52 calibre) complying with international standards.
Delivery of the BONUS series-produced shells began at the end of 2003, providing the French and Swedish armed forces with a munition that is not only infinitely more effective against armoured vehicle targets than conventional explosive shells, but also greatly reduces risks of collateral damage. The excellent performance levels achieved are equalled by the greatly simplified munitions logistics.
The BONUS programme, the first example of Franco-Swedish collaboration in the artillery sector, has resulted in the manufacture of a high-performance product at a very attractive price.
